Hello My Brothers and all vistors,
I am not the first Grand Knight of our council, but I am the first Grand Knight of this council to have a blog. Well, at least a blog on this website. I am not sure Ed is into social media all that much. His Facebook page still has the default image and his wall is empty. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and this blog. In most of our meetings I notice one thing that comes up over and over. We need to communicate! I have actually been trying to focus on communication in my work life. Not only communicating, but communicating effectively. We have email lists and phone lists and all other types of lists. I miss the good old fashion one on one communications. If you have not gotten a call or email from me, trust me you will. I simply have not gotten to your name or number yet. This is my first time being a Grand Knight and I hope I can do a good job. I have a few simple goals for this year and for my tenure as Grand Knight. I want to recruit as many Catholic men as possible to our order. I feel that men who volunteer in the Knights have an opportunity to get closer to their parish, to their family and their community.
I do not want to ramble on and on about what I think. This is why I started a blog. I want this to be a dialog. I am hoping that this will be a dialog among my Brothers, and my parish. I have been at MDP for about 3 years. I had the great fortune to meet this group of men we call Knights and help them start this council. I did not really do much. Now we are an 80+ member council and if I do my job right, that number will continue to grow. Thanks to all my fellow Brothers who entrusted me to be their Grand Knight. It is not a duty I take lightly. I am proud to be a Catholic, I am proud to be a Knight, and I am proud to me a member of MDP Council #14454! Won’t you help me make it the best council in the Order?
