Charles J. Echelmeier, 84, of Willow Grove, on January 3, 2011.  He is survived by his wife Louise Echelmeier (nee Cuninko), his children Mary Louise Butler (Brandt), Charles J. Echelmeier (Maria), Carolyn Casalinuovo (Domenico), Annette Crovo (Paul), John Paul Echelmeier (Lori), and Matthew Echelmeier (Kathy), his brothers Joseph Echelmeier, and Bernard Echelmeier, his sisters Betty Farrell, and Rosie Echelmeier, his nephew Earl Cuninko, his 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Mary and Anna May.

He was a member of the Willow Grove Lions Club for over 40 years and St. David RC Church where he was an Usher.  He was on the Upper Moreland Zoning  and Fire Boards.  Charles was a founding member of the Greater Willow Grove  Golf Open,  Founder of Echelmeier Insurance Agency  in 1971. He was awarded the Willow Grove Chamber of Commerce “Citizen of the Year” 1993.  He was also a member of the Willow Grove Chamber of Commerce.   Charles was a US Navy Veteran who served during WWII.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Thursday evening January 6, 2011 from 6pm to 8pm, and again Friday morning January 7, 2011 from 10am to 1130am at the John J. Bryers Funeral Home, 406 N Easton Rd., Willow Grove PA 19090.  Funeral Mass to follow at 12pm at St. David RC Church, 316 N Easton Rd., Willow Grove PA 19090.  Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Confidence School, 314 N Easton Rd in Willow Grove, PA 19090.
